Sports Help With Education

In the article written on http;//www.livestrong.com/article/120885-youth-sports-children says that sports help children with education.  The main idea of the article is to inform people how sports help children in education.  The viewpoint of the article is that the kids who participate in sports do better in educational situations and have better grades.  The article uses connotation like focus and crucial to inform people how much sports help students and inform is in the ways they are necessary.  I have searched for other viewpoints on this article and I only found viewpoints and studies that support this articles viewpoint.  I have also used this website to search for information about other topics like cancer.  This website discusses all things about health and I believe it is really reliable because they use real doctors and professional people from each topic they study.  The article does not state other sides on this topic.  However I don’t think it was necessary because on the internet I couldn’t even find different viewpoints.  The article does not use number stats but it does discuss studies on real children like the one conducted on Eighth grader CJ Merrit.  It showed that as the child started to play sports he started to get better grades.  I agree with this article and believe it is very accurate after finding all my information on the article and topic.  I think this is all around great.

Sports building Character

Do sports really build character? Is an article about the way sports can help people.  This article focuses on how sports can build character.  The main idea is that inform people that playing sports creates better character.  The view point of the author Michael Austin is that if you play sports you will have better character.  The author’s connotation allows me to figure out the main idea because it uses words like hope and positive ways to show that sports do build character.  The article talks about how when coaches teach the players about how things like sportsmanship and integrity can help in other things like school and jobs.  I do believe the source is accurate.  Although the article was published in 2010 I think that the information is accurate because it was printed on the psychology today website which is renowned for its information that people use around the world.  This leads me to believe that the website would not publish inaccurate information. The website also had links, good pictures, and it was.com which leads me to believe it is reliable.  The author does use bias like only using connotation that supports the articles view point but it allows for main idea. The article does not show conflicting evidence because there are no other studies that show sports don’t build better character.  I have also found many different studies on the same topic and they all come to the same conclusion that tells me that the article is accurate and it doesn’t just try to hide the conflicting evidence.
The main idea of the article Youth Sports & Childhood Obesity written by  By Kimberly A. Laux on May,2010(http://www.livestrong.com/article/120885-youth-sports-childhood-obesity/) is to inform the general public that youth sports can help decrease obesity. The authors view point is that doing sports can help stop obesity. This is a reliable source for the most part. The article has information about the author, which is helpful so we know that she is qualified to write an article on sports and obesity. It also had links and good pictures. Part of the reason why this article couldn’t be reliable is because it is kind of bias because it only has positive things about sports no cons. The articles text structure is cause and effect, the article shows what happens if you do sports and what happens when you don’t do sports.  Also, the word choice of this  article is slanted towards the authors view point, she uses words like improving, high academic achievers, increase, good etc. The article has bias but it helps form the main idea of the article.

Sports Reducing Stress

Chris Tharp claims that “sports help to reduce stress”. (http://www.trumanindex.com/mobile/2.10112/sports-help-to-reduce-stress-1.1463111). The main idea of this article is to inform the general public of the benefit of sports.  The benefit that this article focuses on is stress reducing. The view point of Chris Tharp is that sports are a very good way to reduce stress. The word choice of this article is slanted towards the author’s viewpoint.  It uses words like passion and hungry for success to show how good sports can help stress.
This is a good source because it was updated recently. It also has a very good picture that relates to the topic very well. The one thing that is not great about to article is it doesn’t really say any cons about sports. Which means the article could be kind of biased. However it’s still a very good article and talks about how sports help reduce stress.
